NASA’s Parker Solar Probe Begins Journey to touch the SUN!
Parker, a small car sized spacecraft is going to touch the hot corona of our nearest start Sun. Launched in August 2018, it will start transmitting data of observations in December 2018. This new data directly coming from corona of the sun will help us improve forecasts of space weather and dangerous solar flares. Solar flares can harm astronauts, disrupt radio communication and can be responsible for power grid failures on earth.
Parker will also solve the mystery of Hot Corona of the Sun, why the Corona is more hotter than the surface of the Sun? till now nobody knows the answer. The Parker probe will make a record for the fastest moving object made by humans by orbiting sun with a speed of 430000 miles per hour, in it’s seven years mission Parker probe will move closer and closer to the Sun until it makes its closest approach at 3.8 million miles. Oldest Crystals found in Meteoroid says SUN has a Terrible Past
Sun’s Terrible Past – How we can know the beginning of our Sun if all the material found on earth was made after 50 Million years later than Sun came to existence? Now Scientists detected oldest crystals formed in meteorite before even earth was not there. These crystals are telling a story that our SUN gone through a Rough face of enormous radiation. Read more
New Solar Sailing Spacecraft soon will be a reality
You might have seen spacecraft with sails and propelled by the Sun in science fiction movies and in theoretical space mission animations, now Rochester Institute of Technology researcher is going to make solar sailing reality with advanced photonic materials. Their NEA Scout will be the first CubeSat science mission having attached sails Read more
Earth Is at Its Greatest Distance From the Sun
Summary – This Article talks about the earth’s orbit around the sun, what are aphelion & perihelion is and how they affects the seasons on earth, it also shows how the season changes on Planet Mars and Dwarf planet Pluto as these orbits around the Sun. Read more
Solar wind particles is eroding rocks on moon and mercury much drastically than previously thought
Charged particles from the SUN Contentiously hitting and eroding rocks on planet and moons in our Solar System. New results proves that previous theories of this erosion process are incomplete, the effect is much more drastic than previously assumed. Read More
Know what Solar Prominences are and why they vibrate?
When we look at the surface of the Sun, we observers dark filaments spread all over the disk, These filaments are giant blaze of plasma raising above the Sun’s Surface. They are very dense and made of Hot Plasma, Strong Solar magnetic field supports them and dont let them fall back to surface, but when they collapse they produce eruptions ejecting hot plasma in to the space. As Solar Wind Blows harder it inflate the Balloon of Solar System
Two recent study suggests that when solar wind suddenly starts to blow harder, it propels the boundaries of our solar system and entire solar system inflate like balloon. analysis of particles which are rebounding off from it’s edges will reveal the new shape of solar system. Read more
Study expands our understanding of solar flares’ explosive energy releases
A New moment by moment study of potent solar flares enhanced our knowledge of these explosive energy releases from the sun. The study conducted by New Jersey Institute of Technology’s (NJIT) recently expanded Owens Valley Solar Array (EOVSA). Read Details
SUN Shrinks and Grows up to 2 Km in every 11 Years
A research paper appeared in Astrophysical Journal says that our SUN Shrinks and Grows again up to 2 KM in every 11 Year cycle. To know why it does so please Read more
NASA is sending a smart parker probe to Face the Sun
On August 4 2018, Nasa is sending it’s small soldier to face the SUN, the poor probe will swoop through the SUN’s outer atmosphere Corona, A inferno of plasma having several million degrees Celsius Temperature. Read more
Know all about NASA’s Parker Solar Probe Hot Corona of SUN
The temperature of the sun’s surface is up to 10000 degree Celsius but it’s the SUN’s atmosphere Corona is much more hotter than surface having million degrees temperature, this has been a great mystery for us, Now with Parker Solar Probe, NASA wants to solve this solar puzzle. Read a detailed article of NASA about Corona
The Mystery of CORONA – NASA Explains in a Short animation video.
Something mysterious is going on at the Sun. In defiance of all logic, its atmosphere gets much, much hotter the farther it stretches from the Sun’s blazing surface. Temperatures in the corona — the Sun’s outer atmosphere — spike to 3 million degrees Fahrenheit, while just 1,000 miles below, the underlying surface simmers at a balmy 10,000 F. How the Sun manages this feat is a mystery that dates back nearly 150 years, and remains one of the greatest unanswered questions in astrophysics. Scientists call it the coronal heating problem. Watch the video to learn how astronomers first discovered evidence for this mystery during an eclipse in the 1800s, and what scientists today think could explain it.
